About Eric Kleiner
Eric Kleiner, Financial Advisor, is a community leader and philanthropist known for his involvement in local programs and charitable events. He has played an active role in Tenafly Youth Basketball and also co-chaired the “Play Fore the Kids” Golf Classic, which raises funds for children with special needs. Eric also supports numerous other causes, including education and health, working with organizations like the Kaplen Jewish Community Center in the Palisades and the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation.
One of the most significant ways Eric has given back is through his involvement in charity golf events. For six years, Eric was co-chair of the “Play Fore the Kids” Golf Classic, which raised over two million dollars for children with special needs and autism. The annual tournament brings people together to support a cause that can make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families.
Eric’s role in organizing and co-chairing the event went beyond logistics. His ability to bring people together for a common cause while doing so through an event that celebrates his love of golf has made the event even more impactful. In addition to raising money, it has created an opportunity for families, community leaders, and local businesses to unite and support a cause that matters deeply.
Eric Kleiner has also left a mark on the youth sports scene in Tenafly, New Jersey, through his work with Tenafly Youth Basketball. As president of the organization, Eric oversaw the league’s growth, now serving over 500 children. His leadership has been invaluable in ensuring the league creates a positive environment where kids can learn basketball skills and essential life lessons like teamwork, resilience, and responsibility.
Among the many initiatives under his leadership, Eric is particularly proud of the Challenger Program within Tenafly Youth Basketball. This special program was created to allow children with special needs to participate in organized basketball, which might not otherwise have been possible. Through his advocacy, Eric has ensured that children with different abilities can enjoy the benefits of sports, building confidence and life skills. Eric believes that sports are essential in helping children grow as individuals.
Eric’s charitable work spans much more than golf and youth basketball. He is involved with several health, education, and community support organizations. One of the causes he is most passionate about is his work with Kaplen JCC on the Palisades. Eric has worked closely with the JCC to support programs that serve families in need, ensuring that those who might not have access to essential services can benefit from the center’s offerings. By backing programs for children, families, and seniors, Eric’s contributions have enabled the JCC to remain a vital resource for the community.
In addition to his work with the JCC, Eric supports the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey. Through his involvement, he has helped fund initiatives that provide services to local communities, ensuring those in need receive the support they deserve. Eric has also organized and participated in fundraising events for the Federation, furthering his efforts to strengthen the fabric of his local community.
